Article-Pregnancy and infant care

Reiki eases discomfort during pregnancy and improves infant care.

Reiki is a gentle, safe and effective method of healing and wellbeing suitable for all ages.

Chronic stress during pregnancy has been linked to sleeping and feeding problems after the baby is born, as well as anxiety, symptoms of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, aggressiveness and behavioural problems as children grow.

Reiki can be used to help improve the whole family’s experience through pregnancy, delivery, and post-partum.It has been shown to be useful in dealing with pain, including labour pains during delivery, can reduce stress and anxiety post-partum, and improve post delivery recovery and provides partners a tool to participate more fully through providing care for mum and baby.

Reiki can be provided by mum herself, her partner, and by health care professionals.

Using Reiki on infants is a lot like caring for anyone else – anxiety, sleep problems, pain (wind, colic, teething) all affect infants and Reiki can be used to relieve all these conditions with no contraindications.

Babies that receive regular Reiki energy are often more relaxed and settled than babies who don’t.  Parents that are attuned in Reiki energy are able to offer their baby gentle, soothing healing for all ailments quickly and effectively.

There is no need for lotions, medications or lengthy treatments, Reiki is as simple as placing hands on the baby to relieve pain, anxiety and discomfort that often comes with feeding, colic and teething.

The result will be a happy, healthy and relaxed baby and parent.

Reiki can be used as a stand alone modality or used to enhance other forms of medical practices or treatments, and Reiki is now being recognised as beneficial by health practitioners within our medical community.

Testimonial; “My son has suffered with silent reflux since birth, resulting in painful episodes and restless sleep for the entire household.  Reiki calmed him down,  brought him relief and we all got some sleep!” JD, Western Australia
